The 2026 Miami Grand Prix Recap
The 2026 Miami Grand Prix delivered one of the most dramatic races of the season so far, with Mercedes youngster Kimi Antonelli taking his third consecutive victory after a tense battle with reigning world champion Lando Norris. The race was brought forward by three hours due to severe weather concerns around Miami, creating a chaotic atmosphere before lights out. Max Verstappen spun on the opening lap after battling Antonelli and Charles Leclerc into Turn 1, immediately shaking up the order. An early Safety Car followed after crashes involving Isack Hadjar, Liam Lawson and Pierre Gasly. From there, strategy became crucial. Norris briefly led, but Antonelli regained track position through the pit cycle and then resisted heavy pressure for the remainder of the race. The closing stages of the race were full of drama. Oscar Piastri passed Charles Leclerc to claim the final podium position, before Leclerc spun on the final lap and fell further down the order. Max Verstappen and George Russell both took advantage of the incident to gain places in the closing moments.
