The 2026 Canadian Grand Prix was one of the most action-packed races of the season, with changing weather conditions and differing tyre strategies creating uncertainty from the very start. Drivers and teams were forced to make crucial decisions throughout the race, leading to several shifts in the running order and plenty of overtaking opportunities. At the front, Mercedes team-mates Kimi Antonelli and George Russell engaged in a thrilling battle for the lead. Russell looked set to challenge for victory before a power unit failure forced him out of the race, allowing Antonelli to take control and secure another impressive win. Elsewhere, the race featured fierce midfield battles, bold strategy calls and a number of incidents that kept the outcome uncertain until the closing stages. McLaren endured a difficult afternoon as their early tyre gamble failed to pay off, while several teams capitalised on changing conditions to score valuable points. In the end, Antonelli's victory further strengthened his championship position and rounded off an entertaining weekend in Montreal, with the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve once again delivering a memorable Canadian Grand Prix.
